Book Excerpt - Poetic Diva - I Lie (pg.10):
Please don't lie!
I lie awake many a night and contemplate the lies you would tell.
What lies would creep from behind your lips.
What lies would we share?
I lie here in my bed, and I stare.
I grit my teeth and bite the insides of my cheeks.
I closed my eyes and I yelled.
I wish I knew what lies you would tell.
Which fabrications of the truth was slithering on
the backside of your teeth.
I gripped the bed sheets and cursed the man that hurt me.
But it hurts. You're a jerk.
I lie here awake prepared to burst,
embracing the silence.
Cuddling up next to this emptiness inside of me,
Touching my breast as I await you.
I closed my eyes as my hands travel past my waist,
I visualized you.
I squeezed my thighs and lay my head back,
I inhaled you.
I still can't believe you.
I lie here in anticipation of you and debate
the lies you would tell.
I still craved you; I can't lie.
